The 22nd annual event promises alligators, crocodiles, cobras, mambas, gaboon vipers, poison dart frogs, monitor lizards, giant tortoises, pythons, tree vipers and more.

A reptile petting zoo will allow kids and adults to interact with the creatures in a well-supervised environment, a news release said.

This year’s show, on Oct. 5 and 6, follows a record-breaking turnout last year of 11,000-plus people.

Curiosities will be satisfied with experts on hand to answer reptile-related questions. The Phoenix Herpetological Sanctuary will also be in attendance with its collection of reptiles from around the world.

Beyond gawking at these species, vendors from throughout the country will be selling clothing, artwork, jewelry, cages, supplies and other merchandise, as well as captive-bred or vetted imports of reptiles and amphibians that are non-native to ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ and non-venomous.

“Non captive bred animals are for advanced keepers only,� said Mark Wolfson, the show’s director. “Captive bred reptiles make better pets.�

Food trucks will be on site for the show at 11300 S. Houghton Road. It will run from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Cash-only admission is $15 for ages 12 and up; $5 for ages 6 to 12; and free for kids 5 and under. Admission is good for the entire weekend.
