The reports that the state board of examiners on Tuesday approved the two-year agreement with CoreCivic Inc. The contract comes as the state's overburdened corrections system is facing a bed shortage.
Officials with the state Department of Corrections say the more dangerous and destructive inmates have been targeted for relocation to the Saguaro Correctional Facility in Eloy, ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥. Most of the inmates will be transferred by late November.
Nevada will pay $72.58 per inmate per day during the first fiscal year, and the rate changes to $74.40 in the next fiscal period.
