U.S. Marshals in ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ have taken custody of a 37-year-old man wanted in Georgia on a homicide warrant after he was located in Nogales, Mexico by local authorities Friday.
Danion Perry Scott was deported back into the United States yesterday and was booked into the Santa Cruz County jail until he can be extradited back to Georgia, said Nathan Warner, a spokesman with the U.S. Marshals Service.
On May 23, 2013, Scott allegedly shot a person in the back of head at close range. He was booked into jail in DeKalb County on charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and prohibited possession of a firearm, Warner said.
He was released from jail under the supervision of pretrial services but failed to abide by his conditions of his release and the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office recently learned he'd left Georgia, Warner said.

On May 1, the sheriff's office requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals in Georgia, who determined that Scott may have fled to ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥.
ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ U.S. Marshals began working on the case and learned that Scott had possibly fled to Mexico. Working closely with Mexican authorities, U.S. Marshals personnel located Scott in Nogales, Sonora and were able to arrest him, Warner said.
