The busy lives of bees, bats, butterflies and other pollinators will be the focus of the sixth annual Grassland Fair at Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge southwest of ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ on Saturday, Nov. 14.
The free event, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., will include educational presentations, nature exhibits, children’s activities, live animals, music and food.
Grassland Fair displays, presentations about pollinators, and other activities will take place at the visitor center of the 118,000-acre refuge, which protects many species of plants and animals including the masked bobwhite quail.
“This is a family-oriented event, with ongoing kids’ activities in addition to the educational presentations,†said Daniel Peterson, wildlife refuge specialist at Buenos Aires near the border community of Sasabe. “Kids 5 to 14 years old will get a free t-shirt that they can decorate.â€
