A man died and a woman remains in serious condition after being struck by a truck while they were at a bus stop Wednesday morning in ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥'s midtown.
The driver of the truck ran from the scene, and police searched the area but did not find the man, said Sgt. Kimberly Bay, a ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ Police Department spokeswoman.
Both the man and woman who were injured in the hit-and-run were taken to Banner-University Medical Center ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥, said Bay.
The man died from his injuries at the hospital. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.Â
The crash occurred shortly before 11 a.m. at East Pima Street, just east of North Alvernon Way.
Traffic detectives determined that the driver of a gray 2011 Nissan Titan was traveling south on Alvernon and made an eastbound turn onto Pima at a high rate of speed, said Bay.
