A Marana Unified School District bus driver who was suspended with pay after dropping off students near a flooded wash has resigned, according to district officials.
The driver, Glen McCoy, let two Marana High School students off the bus at a non-designated stop on Aug. 23, and as they attempted to cross a flooded street, the water knocked a girl down and swept her about 20 yards downstream.
The girl, who struck her head, was taken to Banner-University Medical Center for her injuries. The other student was able to get out of the flooded street safely, according to MUSD officials.
School district spokeswoman Tamara Crawley initially said the district would conduct a full investigation to determine if McCoy had broken district policy in letting students off the bus at a non-designated site.
But on Tuesday, Crawley said she was unsure if the district had completed the investigation and that the district would have no further comment on the incident or whether the driver had broken district policy.

McCoy had been with the district since May 2015 and had no disciplinary actions on his record, Crawley said.
