A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a drunken driver early Wednesday on ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥'s north side, police said.
The man was walking down North First Avenue, crossing East Delano Street when he was struck by a car, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ Police Department spokesman.
The pedestrian was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital in life-threatening condition, Dugan said.
The driver, a woman who was under the legal drinking age, remained at the scene and officers conducted a DUI investigation, finding signs of impairment. She was booked into jail, Dugan said.
First Avenue was closed for several hours, between Fort Lowell and Blacklidge, while officers investigated the crash.
