Customs officers in Nogales seized more than $500,000 worth of drugs from the car of a woman who was trying to cross with her child, officials said.
On Thursday, Customs and Border Protection officers at the DeConcini crossing sent a 29-year-old woman driving a 2009 Honda Accord to a secondary inspection, the agency said in a news release.
Inside the car, officers found 29 pounds of meth, 18 pound of heroin and nearly 13 pounds of cocaine hidden in the vehicle's rear quarter panels.
The drugs were worth more than $535,000 in total.
The woman was arrested. Her child was released to a relative.
