Rainfall was welcomed to the ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ area Friday and Saturday, and Saturday’s rainfall broke a record set six years ago, the National Weather Service said.
It was remnants of Tropical Storm Bud that brought the weather to ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥, as the official start of the monsoon season began on Friday.
A rainfall record of 0.75 of an inch was measured at ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ International Airport on Saturday, shattering the 2012 record for June 16 of 0.29 of an inch, said Aaron Hardin, a meteorologist with the weather service.
The fifth-longest dry spell of 106 days without measurable rainfall was broken on Friday with 0.14 of an inch measured at the airport.
In some areas, gusty winds, heavy rainfall and pea-sized hail were reported. Flood advisories were enacted through parts of the afternoon.

Isolated thunderstorms were seen on radar moving across Southeastern ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ by weather service meteorologists.
A funnel cloud was reported by a trained spotter in Vail, but Hardin said there were no official reports of tornadoes forming.
Weather advisories were in effect until around midnight Saturday as dry air moved back into the area, Hardin said. ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ans can expect dry conditions through Saturday, the weather service said.
