Five kittens were rescued from a storm drain near River and Oracle roads on Saturday, officials said.
Shortly after 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, the ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ Fire Department received a call from the Pima Animal Care Center about two kittens stuck in a storm drain. Pima County Department of Environmental Quality officials were also at the scene, a news release from the fire department said.
The grate of the storm drain was removed and the vault was 15-feet deep, the release shows. Firefighters were able to rescue the two kittens, but also noticed an additional three kittens further away.Â
PACC provided firefighters with a net to help rescue the last three kittens, according to the release.Â
PACC estimated that the kittens were less than a week old. They were taken to a vet and will hopefully be available for adoption soon.
