PHOENIX — A Phoenix man has been arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty after allegedly killing and decapitated a puppy, police say.
DeCarlos Jones, 29, was arrested Wednesday, police said.
Jones got mad at the 6-month-old dog Tuesday when it urinated inside the house. Court documents state that Jones slammed the dog against a bathroom tub, stabbed it until it was no longer breathing and then cut off the puppy's head.
Jones also told police that he had been arguing with his girlfriend and he's on medication for PTSD and bipolar disorder.
He didn't have a lawyer at his initial court appearance, where bond was set at $5,000.
