ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥â€™s women’s soccer team used a late comeback to top TCU 2-1 on Friday night in the biggest win at Mulcahy Stadium in years.
The Wildcats’ NCAA Tournament first-round victory was sealed by a senior’s strike.
Cali Crisler’s long-distance goal in the 81st minute broke a 1-1 tie and devastated TCU, which led for most of the game. Samantha Falasco’s goal for the Wildcats tied the match earlier in the half.
ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ will travel to Palo Alto, California, for the second and — if the Wildcats win — third rounds of the tournament. The Wildcats will play Florida State on Friday at Stanford’s campus.
The Horned Frogs scored in the first half and took a 1-0 lead into the break. The UA appeared to be losing its poise as the final minutes of the half wound down.
“If we’re going to go down, it’s not going go down that way,†ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ coach Tony Amato said. “We need to start winning balls in the air, start winning tackles, start pressing a little more because for 30 minutes we didn’t really look like ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ soccer — and I thought in the second half we did.â€

The Wildcats outshot TCU 13-5.
“(Goalkeeper) Lainey (Burdett) didn’t really touch the ball that much in the beginning of the second half and I think starting out with that momentum helped us throughout the whole half,†Crisler said.
“When we got the first goal that continued to have our hopes up and we knew it was going to come if we continued to work hard.â€
