Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton said he was "clueless" why his name popped up in allegations that a family friend received $15,000 from an Adidas rep while in high school.
Ex-Adidas rep T.J. Gassnola testified that he paid a family friend of Ayton $15,000 in order to help establish a relationship that might lead to Ayton playing for a school sponsored by Adidas. Ayton chose to play for ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥, which is sponsored by Nike.
In the college basketball corruption trial, an ex-adidas consultant testified he paid a family friend of Deandre Ayton $15K to give to Ayton's mom during his junior year of high school. Deandre's response "I don't think they (my family) would do anything like that."
