ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ forward Trey Townsend will not play Saturday against Texas Tech because of UA's concussion protocol.
Townsend hit his head on the floor on Tuesday at BYU and did not return, though he appeared to develop symptoms in the days after the game. During his weekly press conference Friday, UA coach Tommy Lloyd did not mention the possibility of concussion protocol when asked about Townsend's fall and a poke in the eye suffered by center Tobe Awaka at BYU.
"I think we're business as usual," Lloyd said. "I don't think there's anything that's come out of that at all."
Townsend was not on the UA bench during Saturday's game. There is no timeline for Townsend's return, though concussion protocols usually last at least a week, so it is possible he could return Tuesday at Kansas State.
UA issued a statement saying only that Townsend's status would continue to be evaluated.
