For centuries, Edgar Allan Poe and his haunting tales have sent chills up our spines.
From ravens to beating hearts, his stories have influenced pop culture, adding a bit of darkness to the mix. And what better way to experience these iconic stories than seeing them come to life on stage while you sip on a spooky cocktail?
Next week, the touring will be coming into town, bringing along fun drinks and live performances that pay homage to his legacy.
The speakeasy is described as a “chilling cocktail experience dedicated to the stories of Edgar Allan Poe.†During the event, four of his most famous stories will be retold and acted out on stage by Poe historians.
To go along with the performances, the speakeasy will have four cocktails that capture the macabre vibe that Poe is known and loved for.
The Pale Blue Eye is a light blue cocktail made with blueberry vodka, fresh lemon juice, rose syrup and finished off with a bubbly La Croix.
If cherry is more your speed, the Cocktail of Red Death is for you. This drink has 100-proof vodka, cherry herring, Benedictine liqueur, lime juice, pineapple juice and bitters.
For those who like a creamier drink, the speakeasy has the Edgar’s Twisted Brandy Milk Punch. Kentucky Bourbon and French Bandy are mixed with vanilla cream, milk syrup and half and half. It’s then topped with star anise.
Lastly, we have The Nevermore: a black and gold cocktail made with orange peach blossom vodka, lime juice and secret spices.
The Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy will be in town June 13-15 at the , Each ticket, which start at $48, includes entry to the experience plus four cocktails.
