This week is Children's Book Week, an annual celebration of books for kids and the joy of reading, started by , a non-profit literacy charity.Â
More than 650 schools, libraries and bookstores are hosting events this week in all 50 states.Â
This year's theme is "One World, Many Stories."
To celebrate, local author and illustrator will be at the UA Bookstores to share his newest books on Saturday.Â
Rex will read from "XO, OX: A Love Story" and "The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors."
There will also be crafts, songs and free Children's Book Week posters and activities.Â
All kids and teens will get a free, 2017 Children's Book Week poster designed by Christian Robinson and have access online at to original bookmarks created by four children's book illustrators, an early-reader Sesame Street e-book and a middle-grade graphic novel.Â
In addition, kids can vote in the , which is the only book award voted on solely by kids and teens. Voting ends May 7.Â
