University of 蜜柚直播 focus
The University of 蜜柚直播 needs to focus on education 鈥 its students and its faculty.
It is ludicrous the University signed a five-year contract for $13,000,000+ for a football coach! Brent Brennan鈥檚 first-year salary is $2,500,000, 10 times what Dick Tomey got in 1987 ($85,000 adjusted for inflation). Four straight losses to mediocre teams have led to cries of 鈥淔ire him!鈥 That鈥檚 OK, except that Brennan has four years to go on his contract. I would fire the athletics department leadership, but they have multiyear contracts.
The solution? Keep them as long as their contracts are in effect, and then fire them. Stop whining and recognize that NIL, transfer portal, pay-to-play, etc. have made college football a business to develop NFL players. Student-athletes ceased to exist.

BTW: Dick was 4-4-3 in his first year; Brennan could only wish.

Re: Kamala is a sham
Two letters from our Loyal friend this week. The Star is stepping up to post this BS twice a week now? Loyal complains about the Opportunity Economy that Harris touts. He wonders where this plan is. Well, Loyal, it’s on the website . Just go there, and you’ll get all the answers you seek. Where do we find the “concepts of the plans,” that your hero and convicted felon has proposed? Please explain how one candidate has plans you can’t find while the other doesn’t have any at all, but you’re complaining about plans. Speaking of shams, did you get your education at T University? Or did you buy steaks, bibles, ties and other associated products the “shaman” is selling? One candidate has plans and has published them. The other just complains that he never lost an election. Is there no hope for the Americans that understand truth?

Democratic beatitudes
Happy the Democrats, who allow non-citizens to vote
for they shall inherit the White House.
Happy the Democrats, who leave our borders open
for they shall welcome murderers, rapist and terrorists.
Happy the Democrats who want to deny inflation,
for they will inherit the land.
Happy the Democrats who want to pack the Supreme Court
for they shall be comforted.
Happy the Democrats who demand electric cars for all
for they will be satisfied.
Happy the Democrats who want a federal abortion law
for theirs is the kingdom.
Happy the Democrats who want transgendered males to destroy women鈥檚 sports
for they shall be satisfied.
Happy the Democrats, who hunger and thirst for Harris
for they shall be disappointed.

We are all Americans
Our nation is at a crossroads. We, the People, are at a crossroads.
We have to stop being Republicans or Democrats. We have to stop being Red or Blue. We have to let go of our old biases, old prejudices, and stuck ideas. Stop taking sides. Instead, we have to all be Americans again. Neighbors. Friends. Community. United not divided.
We all have to be patriots. We have to put our country above our party, and above our ideology. We have to let go of hate and fear. We have to think about our children and our grandchildren and what kind of country, what kind of world we want them to inherit from us.
We need to vote for Vice President Harris.

The sign wars
Yesterday morning, as I walked in my neighborhood, I noticed several newly placed Harris/Walz signs. As I walked, I took photos of the signs between my house and Camino Seco. There were six.
This morning, the only sign remaining was the mangled one at the SE corner of Camino Seco and Broadway.
There are a plethora of Trump/Vance signs up. None of the T/V signs had been disturbed.
This is a sad commentary. Who goes around on Saturday night pulling up signs that they don鈥檛 like? Have they no shame?
I have gone by those T/V signs for weeks, I don鈥檛 like seeing them, but I appreciate the rights of the people who want to put them up, but they don鈥檛 consider the rights of those who don鈥檛 agree with them.
It is scary. I鈥檓 offended. And I鈥檓 mad as hell!
And the sad part is, the folks who do that get away with it.

Gaslighting Trump鈥檚 actions
I admit I loathe Donald Trump, but not because I鈥檝e been conditioned to hate him by the non-stop media negativity as indicated by Carol Mingus (Oct. 26). I despise him for his numerous grave misdeeds, from sexual crimes to treasonous behaviors. The media did not threaten to use the military against Americans, and the media doesn鈥檛 insult or demonize people of color. If Trump stopped doing half of the negative things he does, maybe he wouldn鈥檛 be so hateful, but he seems to enjoy doubling down on hate. Mingus is wrong to claim the media is 鈥渢urning up its malicious coverage as the election nears.鈥 A more accurate statement would be that Trump is dialing up his vitriol as the election nears. It seems Mingus has succumbed to Hostile Media Effect 鈥 that is the view that neutral sources are biased against their political views (Vallone et al. 1985). Sorry, but Donald Trump craves and deserves all the negative attention he鈥檚 receiving.

Making decisions for us
I can鈥檛 stand it anymore how people refer to abortion as women鈥檚 health care. It is not health care. How is protecting an unborn baby from being murdered a health care decision which the letter writer claims should be protected and not controlled by men? What does the fact that the original framers of the Constitution were all male have anything to do with this issue? First of all, put things in perspective. They were products of their time. There are many women like me who agree it should be governed. So, she has no basis about this being a male decision. The government has laws against murder. Why should later-term abortions when a baby is viable not be governed? Remember, the government is made up of both men and women.

Saying it over again
It is kinda funny: the Democrats are under the impression that they can change people鈥檚 choice in the election by saying the same thing over thousands of times. According to the requests for contributions, the Harris campaign has a billion dollars in the bank, and the only idea she can come up with is to repeat the same claims over and over. Has anyone else noticed the annoyance of muting the TV every time a commercial comes on?
Then it struck me, most of this money was not Kamala鈥檚, it was the money contributed to the Biden campaign before he was stabbed in the back by the Democratic elite. Then the elites, without asking the voters or the contributors, selected Kamala Harris and with that declaration, shifted all of that money from Biden. What it all comes down to is simple: The leaders of the Democratic Party made a decision over the wishes of the voters, so they would have access to the money. A power play, nothing more.

SCOTUS stopped Florida 2000 vote count
I write in response to the Oct. 27 letter by Dennis Winsten, 鈥淵our vote has consequences,鈥 to point out that it鈥檚 wrong to only blame Florida 2000 voters. Fifteen of my 24 years spent working on election campaigns were spent in Florida. Several hundred thousand legal Florida 2000 ballots sit uncounted in the Florida archives because five unelected Republican U.S. Supreme Court justices carried out a judicial coup d鈥櫭﹖at by stopping the legal vote count in order to thwart the will of the people and install their personally preferred Presidential candidate in the White House. Most of the uncounted votes are located in the largest and most heavily Democratic-voting counties in Florida. It doesn鈥檛 take a rocket scientist to figure out which Presidential candidate these Florida voters voted for. It wasn鈥檛 the five unelected Republican U.S. Supreme Court justices鈥 preferred candidate.

Being American
Before becoming American citizens, immigrants have to take an oath saying, 鈥淚 will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America 鈥 I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same.鈥
Few immigrants break laws. Mr. Trump break laws frequently.
Mr. Trump was convicted by a jury of his peers of sexual abuse, civil financial fraud and criminal business fraud; he is a felon. He has been indicted by a grand jury of violating the Espionage Act. He was indicted for trying to overthrow the 2020 election in direct opposition to the stipulations in our Constitution. And remember, another assault on our Constitution: Mr. Trump鈥檚 statement, 鈥淵ou will never have to vote again鈥 if he is re-elected.
How can everyone taking pride in being American and all that name stands for, vote for Mr. Trump?

Alternative reality at the border
As I read through the article in the Oct. 27 Daily Star regarding 鈥淣etwork touts false border invasion narrative,鈥 my jaw dropped open with incredulity. I was stunned that the authors did not believe the southern U.S. border has been overrun by an invasion of over 10 million illegal aliens. How could you possibly publish disinformation of this magnitude? They don鈥檛 offer an explanation for what actually happened the last 3 3/4 years.
Dark money? That鈥檚 a progressive liberal bias-motivated statement with no evidence or citations.
I鈥檝e never heard about Homan, but I can only hope that Trump takes the White House back, rehires him and begins to restore order and sanity in our country. This madness has to stop and it鈥檚 sad the Daily Star continues to promote it.
This is the most politically-biased disinformation article I鈥檝e read in this paper. Unbelievable.

Rationality versus emotion
Re: 鈥淎 warning to those who hate Trump鈥
The author of that opinion does not acknowledge that an aversion to DJT can be based on a rational view of his impossible policies, poor character and contempt for the Constitution. Instead, she asserts that such an aversion is just due to hatred of DJT. Any reasonable interpretation of his continuous lies, belligerent threats, hypocritical views, and promises of authoritarianism should lead to the conclusion that he is a danger to our democracy.
The fact that so many citizens have been taken in by his racist misogynous pablum can indeed produce feelings of concern and gloom, but those are not feelings of hate. Rather the elicited feelings are those of puzzlement regarding why people, including family, would let their perceived grievances and tribalism override their interpretation of facts and consequently support the only president in our 235-year history to not abide by the fundamental democratic rule: the peaceful transfer of power.

A rally of hate in New York
I saw the most hateful Fascist Republican Party rally, with No. 45 telling his lies. He even blamed President Biden and VP Harris for separating the undocumented children and parents. Remember No. 45 was in Office when he ordered those separations. Lied about his opponents drinking, possible drug abuse? And more lies. His followers are the most ignorant people in this great country. They believe him because they are bigots.
Steven Miller called my brown race 鈥渁nimals.鈥 Remember, they must be celebrating the first hate rally at Madison Square Garden in the thirties by the American Nazi Party. Except they wore robes and hoods. I do believe there will be needless, Civil War based on hate and lies. I鈥檓 a Vietnam veteran and I will fight to protect my grandchildren鈥檚 future. I walked the walk, and my oath never ends.

A few votes in a few states
Mort Rosenblum鈥檚 Sunday Star Opinion article on Oct. 27 contains this early statement on the upcoming presidential election, 鈥淏ut we may soon stampede off a cliff like spooked dumb buffalo for the most ignominious finale to a world-class republic since Romans let Caesar鈥檚 son declare himself emperor.鈥 Mr. Rosenblum clearly has descended into overwrought drivel between the Roman Empire鈥檚 demise and a possible Trump election victory. Lordy, can it possibly get any more disconnected from reality than that?
Yep. Mr. Rosenblum later states, 鈥淭rump is an aging, ailing, patently deranged Trojan horse. I worry more about those who lurk inside, starting with JD Vance. Only 40, he could spend 10 years remaking America with an inner circle including Elon Musk, Don Jr. and self-serving moguls like Peter Thiel.鈥 Mr. Rosenblum is doing his long career in foreign reporting no favor with this late-life nonsensical, detached and unsupportable opinion on Trump.

Madison Square Garden
No different from the pro-Hitler rally held there in the 1930s. Men need to understand that a vote for Trump is a vote against American women everywhere. Are any of you paying attention to what women are going through since Trump鈥檚 fall of Roe? Are you really as hateful as his rally at Madison Square Garden showed? I know one thing: Hate doesn鈥檛 win, not even for Hitler. Not for the KKK, and all of their white supremacy BS. People that care, are productive, and work for change. You Trump supporters don鈥檛 know about being responsible, he gave you a free pass to be as disgusting as you鈥檝e turned out to be. You鈥檙e not Americans, and it鈥檚 time we call you out!
