The film is told from a different perspective – point of view – with actors staring into the camera to tell the story of an abusive reform school, Nickel Academy.
Based on Colson Whitehead’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, “Nickel Boys” follows two boys who become friends at a reform school called the Nickel Academy.
