Fire restrictions in picnic areas and wilderness camp sites have been put in place at Saguaro National Park.
The restrictions are an effort to reduce the risk of fire to protect firefighter and public health and safety, and to protect public lands, resources and facilities during the coronavirus pandemic, Saguaro National Park said Tuesday morning.聽
Campfires are prohibited, including the use of charcoal grills and barbecues, and coal and wood burning stoves in any area of the park.聽
Visitors can use gas stoves, grills or lanterns with shut-off valves. Those using portable stoves should make sure the area is clear of grasses and other fine fuels and avoid stoves tipping, which can start a fire.聽
Fireworks continue to be prohibited on federal public lands at all times.聽
