More than $1 million worth of fentanyl and methamphetamine were seized in a traffic stop on Interstate 10 last week, ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ police said.
According to court records, investigators from the Counter Narcotics Alliance were targeting illegal drug transportation into Southern ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ Wednesday when they stopped a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Martin De La Torre.
During a search of the vehicle, investigators say they found nearly 260,000 fentanyl pills and more than six pounds of methamphetamine hidden in a compartment in floorboards of the pickup truck, an interim complaint filed in Superior Court stated.
About 42% of the pills tested contained potentially lethal levels of fentanyl, according the DEA.
De La Torre was arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a dangerous drug and unlawful possession of narcotics for sale, according to court records.
