Michelle Watt looks just a little bit impatient as two people prepare her elaborately decorated mortar board prior to Pima Community College’s graduation ceremony. Watt and more than 3,500 other students earned a combined 5,796 degrees and certificates during Thursday night’s festivities at the ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ Convention Center. A total of 1,735 students earned associate’s degrees, 150 of whom had grade-point averages of 3.9 or greater, meeting the requirement for graduation with highest honors.
