PHOENIX — The state Supreme Court has created a new court committee to provide advisory opinions on lawyer ethics and related issues.
An order signed Wednesday by Chief Justice Scott Bales to create the Attorney Ethics Advisory Committee implements a rule change approved by the full court on Aug. 28.
The creation of the 15-member committee is the latest of several moves by the Supreme Court to have the state court system itself perform tasks previously handled by the State Bar of ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥, a professional organization overseen by the state high court.
Bales' order names ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ Court of Appeals Judge Paul McMurdie as chairman of the new committee whose other members include attorneys, judges and a Star Bar official.
