According to CNBC, a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to temporarily reinstate certain education grants it had cut. U.S. District Judge Julie Rubin ruled that the Education Department's termination of grant awards was likely "arbitrary and capricious." She found the decision unreasonable, poorly explained, and not by the law. Several education organizations sued the U.S. Department of Education and President Donald Trump over terminating educator preparation grants, arguing they were funded through congressional appropriations.
