ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ added depth to its quarterback room on Sunday, when former San Jose State Spartan Anthony Garcia announced his commitment to the Wildcats on .
Garcia will follow ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ head coach Brent Brennan and passing game coordinator Matt Adkins, who is also the tight ends coach, to ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ after one season at San Jose State.
The 6-1, 192-pound Garcia joined San Jose State in 2022 as a three-star quarterback out of Capital Christian High School in Sacramento. In three seasons at Capital Christian, Garcia threw for 2,885 yards, 36 touchdowns and five interceptions. Garcia didn't play at SJSU.
Garcia's father, Aaron Garcia, played 19 seasons in the Arena Football League and passed for 62,159 yards and 1,336 touchdowns.Â

The younger Garcia will become the fourth quarterback on ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥'s roster for the 2024 season. With Noah Fifita as the starter, Garcia will compete for the backup quarterback position with Brayden Dorman and walk-on Cole Tannenbaum, and give the Wildcats depth after losing Jayden de Laura. Â
ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ hosts its spring game this Saturday at 6 p.m. at ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ Stadium, which will also be televised on Pac-12 Network. Â
