The Big 12 unveiled the kickoff dates and matchups for its 16-team league in 2025 during an announcement special on ESPNU Tuesday morning.

The Wildcats kick off the second season under head coach Brent Brennan against Hawaii on Aug. 30 at ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ Stadium. It’ll be the seventh all-time matchup between ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ and Hawaii. The Wildcats’ only loss in the series is a 45-38 defeat in 2019 in Honolulu. ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ last played Hawaii in ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ in 2016 before the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor; the Wildcats wore USS ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥-themed uniforms for the game.

ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ will wrap up nonconference play in ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ against other teams with Wildcats as their mascot, Weber State on Sept. 6 and Kansas State on Sept. 13. Even though KSU is a Big 12 team, the matchup with ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ is the final part of the previously scheduled home-and-home nonconference series. UA lost to Kansas State 31-7 in Manhattan last season.

Following a bye week, ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ begins Big 12 play on the road against Iowa State in Ames, Iowa, on Sept. 27. The Wildcats haven’t played the Cyclones since their only matchup in Ames in 1968. ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ is 4-1-1 against Iowa State between 1948 and 1968. Iowa State went 11-3 last season and lost to ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ State in the Big 12 championship game, before winning the Pop Tarts Bowl.

The Wildcats’ Big 12 home opener is against the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Oct. 4 at ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ Stadium. Oklahoma State, led by longtime head coach Mike Gundy, went winless in conference play last season. ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ is 4-5 all-time against Oklahoma State. The Wildcats won the last game against OSU, 59-38, in ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ during former head coach Rich Rodriguez’s inaugural season in 2012.

ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ will square off with BYU in back-to-back seasons on Oct. 11. ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ lost to BYU 41-19 in Provo last season. ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ has lost four straight games to BYU since 2016. The Wildcats won’t face the Utah Utes for the first time since the pandemic-influenced season in 2020.

Before the Wildcats’ second bye week, ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ faces Houston on the road on Oct. 18. The Wildcats routed the Cougars 27-3 at ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ Stadium in 2024. ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ is 2-3 all-time against Houston and lost to the Cougars in Houston in 2018. ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ has a bye week preceding the Big 12 schedule and another bye at the halfway mark of conference play.

Following the second bye week, ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ has a rematch with the Deion Sanders-coached Colorado Buffaloes, without star quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, on Nov. 1 in Boulder. CU drubbed ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ 34-7 during homecoming weekend in 2024.

The Wildcats host the Kansas Jayhawks on Nov. 8. ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ is 2-3-1 against Kansas. ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ last played KU in 1966. Former ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ tight end Keyan Burnett transferred to Kansas in December. Burnett and former UA defensive captain Gunner Maldonado, who transferred to Kansas State, will return to ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ Stadium as opponents in 2025.

ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ travels to Cincinnati on Nov. 15 for the first-ever matchup between the Wildcats and Bearcats. It’s the Wildcats’ first game in the state of Ohio since their 41-2 win over Toledo in 2010.

ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ concludes its home schedule on Nov. 22 against the Baylor Bears. The Wildcats’ only game against Baylor was a 20-15 loss at the John Hancock Bowl in 1992.

The final game of the regular season is the Territorial Cup showdown at in-state rival and defending Big 12 champion ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ State for potentially the only Friday game on the UA’s schedule. The game is scheduled for either Friday, Nov. 28, or Saturday, Nov. 29.

Kickoff times for ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥â€™s 2025 football schedule will be announced at a later date.

All games will broadcast on either the ESPN family of networks, Fox, FS1, TNT or TBS. Following a settlement between the NBA and Warner Bros. Discovery, 13 Big 12 football games will be moved from ESPN to TNT and TBS, which are WBD channels. The sublicense expires in six years, when the Big 12 media agreement is up.

Some games are subjected to be flexed to a Friday night or other special dates. For now, ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥â€™s only potential Friday game is the Territorial Cup.
