ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ tight end Roberto Miranda had a year left of eligibility, but the Germany native opted to play professionally in his home country, he announced on Friday.
Miranda signed with the Stuttgart Surge, a European League of Football (ELF) franchise in Germany near France, Austria and Switzerland.
The ELF started in 2020. The Stuttgart Surge play home games at Waldau-Stadion, the oldest sports stadium in Germany, which holds just over 11,000 spectators.
Miranda leaves the UA football program after five seasons in ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥. The Berlin native signed with the Wildcats in 2020 and played for three head coaches during his time at UA: Kevin Sumlin, Jedd Fisch and Brent Brennan.
The 6-3, 244-pound Miranda, who was primarily used as a blocker, had one reception during his entire ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ career. Miranda played 264 offensive snaps in the last three years as a Wildcat.
