ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ educators plan to turn Broadway — from downtown to Houghton Road —into a river of red shirts on Wednesday, April 25.
They, along with members of the community, will don red shirts and hold signs to show support for the #RedforEd movement, which seeks to restore funding to ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥'s public education system.Â
ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ schools and groups have signed up to cover different intersections along Broadway from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Anyone from the community is invited to participate. There will be food trucks and music along the way.Â
The protest comes after nearly 80 percent of ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ educators voted to strike on Thursday if demands were not met.Â
