Last weekend, Venezuelan trumpeter Pacho Flores returned to Linda Ronstadt Music Hall to perform the U.S. premiere of Puerto Rican composer Roberto Sierra鈥檚 鈥淪alseando.鈥 It was his first 蜜柚直播 concert since his TSO 2019 debut.

This weekend, guest conductor will lead the orchestra in 鈥淟atin Fire,鈥 a high-octane concert of Latin works and dance tunes that will surely dare you to remain seated until the end.
Mexican soprano and Costa Rican trumpet virtuoso will add the 鈥渇ire鈥 to Lopez-Ya帽ez鈥檚 program, which the orchestra will perform twice this weekend at Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, 260 S. Church Ave.
Lopez-Ya帽ez, the principal pops conductor of the Nashville Symphony, curated the program as part of his series aimed at attracting new audiences to classical music.
鈥淟atin Fire鈥 has been presented by orchestras around the country including Phoenix Symphony, which is set to present it in April.
The program includes songs from Latin composers hailing from Puerto Rico (Rafael Hern谩ndez鈥檚 鈥淓l Cumbanchero鈥), Brazil (Zequinha de Abreu鈥檚 鈥淭ico-tico no Fub谩鈥), Argentina (Astor Piazzola鈥檚 鈥淟ibertango鈥) and Mexico (Agust铆n Lara鈥檚 鈥淕ranada鈥). The program also includes Clarice Assad鈥檚 鈥淏onecos de Olinda,鈥 Georges Bizet鈥檚 鈥淐armen鈥 Suite, Enrique Soro鈥檚 鈥淒anza Fant谩stica鈥 and Mar铆a Grever鈥檚 鈥淛煤rame.鈥
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26. Tickets are $18-$59 through .
