A 20-year-old man who was killed Thursday in a worksite accident was electrocuted, officials say.
About 8:15 a.m. Thursday, Dominick Herbert was part of a crew installing a new water main in the area of West Pecos Way and North Thornydale Road when a live power line broke and fell, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
The line fell into a trench where Herbert and a colleague were working.
Herbert was electrocuted and died at the scene.
His unidentified coworker was rushed to the hospital and was in critical condition, authorities say.
The cause of the power line break is still under investigation, the news release said.
An excavator was being used nearby, the news release noted.

Several agencies are taking part in the investigation. That includes the Pima County Department of Transportation, the ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ Division of Occupational Safety and Health and ÃÛèÖÖ±²¥ Electric Power.
About 1,500 customers in the area lost power for about 30 minutes before it was restored, the utility said.
